This Privacy Policy explains how αδεσποcats ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our cat colony management application. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Greek and EU data protection law.
01Who we are
αδεσποcats is a cat colony management application designed for volunteers and caregivers who manage feral and stray cat colonies in urban areas. The application is operated from Greece (European Union).
02Data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
From your Google account (when you sign in with Google):
- Your name
- Your email address
Data you provide while using the app:
- Location data of cat colonies you create or manage
- Information about individual cats (coat colour, eye colour, sex, photos)
- Any notes or records you add within the app
03How we use your data
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your αδεσποcats account
- To allow you to map, track, and manage cat colonies
- To display your records and history within the app
- To provide technical support when needed
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.
04Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: processing your name and email is necessary to provide you with an account and access to the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Legitimate interests: processing location and cat colony data is necessary for the core functionality of the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Consent: where required, we will ask for your explicit consent before processing any additional data.
05Google sign-in
When you sign in using your Google account, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive your Google password or any other Google account data. We use this information solely to identify you within αδεσποcats and to associate your data with your account.
We do not sell, rent, or share your Google account data with any third parties.
06Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate αδεσποcats:
- Supabase: used for secure data storage and authentication infrastructure. Supabase processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
- Google OAuth: used for sign-in. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Google.
These services are used solely to operate the app and are bound by their own privacy and security policies.
07Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will permanently delete your name, email address, and all associated colony and cat data within 30 days of your request.
08Your rights under GDPR
As a user in the European Union, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: you can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: you can request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to restriction: you can request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability: you can request your data in a portable format.
- Right to object: you can object to certain types of processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) at www.dpa.gr.
09Cookies
αδεσποcats may use essential cookies or local storage tokens to maintain your login session. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
10Children's privacy
αδεσποcats is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@adespocats.com and we will delete it promptly.
11Data security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the last updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using αδεσποcats. By creating an account or using the application, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
01Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using αδεσποcats, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and that you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
02Description of service
αδεσποcats is a cat colony management tool for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) volunteers and caregivers. It allows users to:
- Map and manage feral and stray cat colonies
- Track individual cats and their details
- Record photos, health notes, and colony information
The service is provided free of charge during its current phase of operation.
03User accounts
To use αδεσποcats, you must sign in with a valid Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@adespocats.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
04Acceptable use
You agree to use αδεσποcats only for its intended purpose — managing cat colonies for animal welfare purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Upload false, misleading, or harmful content
- Attempt to access other users' data without authorization
- Reverse engineer, copy, or distribute any part of the application
- Use the app in any way that could harm animals or other users
05User-generated content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (colony locations, cat photos, notes). By submitting content, you grant αδεσποcats a limited license to store and display it as part of the service. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not violate third-party rights.
06Account termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@adespocats.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior, without prior notice.
Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
07Disclaimer of warranties
αδεσποcats is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not responsible for any loss of data.
08Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, αδεσποcats and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use or inability to use the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
09Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece and the European Union. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Athens, Greece.
10Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
